How Affiliate Marketing Works

I am going to simplify this process as much as I can for you because there is so much information, outdated, and confusing information as to how affiliate marketing works. It isn’t complicated at all and you are just as capable as I am of creating an affiliate marketing business if you have fingers and a drive to succeed.

So if you have a few minutes, I am going to show you how to build a successful affiliate marketing business.

Let’s have a look at the process of affiliate marketing and how it works…and then I am going to be jumping directly into the process on what starting an affiliate marketing business looks like and how you can get started TODAY (no joke), with your own business online.

How Affiliate Marketing Works

There is a plethora of information out there on affiliate marketing, but the problem is with so much information there is going to be bad information, really good information, confusing information, and information that lies somewhere in between.

The “simple formula” thats worked for years, continues to work to this day.  You have a product, and you have a customer.  Your job as an affiliate marketer is to align these two things.  That’s it!

Here is a diagram outlining how affiliate marketing works:

I’m oversimplifying this a tad, for a reason.  I don’t want you to be scared of the word “affiliate marketing”, because you are just as capable of creating a full-time and very successful affiliate marketing business as anyone else is.  All you need is the right training, the right guidance, and the tools necessary to get you there.

The thing is, affiliate marketing at it’s core is very simple.  There are a few terms that you will want to make sure you understand.

Affiliate (YOU).  You are the affiliate, this means that you can join companies like Etsy, eBay, Walmart, Amazon (and 10,000’s of others) and promote their products and services.  When you join these companies Affiliate Programs, they will give you a special “affiliate link” that is exclusive to you, and allows you to track all of the sales you generate.

Affiliate Program (company like Amazon).   Most companies have an affiliate program, 99% of all of the brands in the world in fact can be promoted online and you, as an affiliate, can earn a commission.   Amazon is one of the biggest affiliate programs in the world and will allow you to promote 100’s of MILLIONS of products, with a single account.  Pretty awesome right?

Earning Affiliate Commissions. Affiliate programs will give you a kick back if you can send people to their website, and they end up buying something. Say you send someone to Amazon through your affiliate link, and they end up buying a fridge, Amazon will pay you a % of the total sale.  Amazon offers around 3-6% commissions, so a transaction like this may yield you $50-100 (depending on the price of the fridge).    Depending on the company and affiliate program, they will typically pay between 2% and 75% in commissions.

Unlimited Potential.  As an affiliate marketer, your potential has no limit.  The more people you can get buying through your affiliate links, the more money you make.  Many affiliate marketers make several million dollars per year, and this can be a reality for anyone that is willing to put forth the effort to build an affiliate marketing business.  But HOW do you build an affiliate marketing business?  I am going to cover that in the next section.

The 4-Steps to a Starting a Successful Affiliate Marketing Business

So how can YOU create your own successful affiliate marketing start-up?   There are actually only 4-steps to creating a successful affiliate marketing business, and if you can follow these and have access to the training, tools and support necesseary to run your business (which I will be helping you with), you are going to be off and running!4 Steps to Creating a BusinessSo I am not only going to be giving you the exact steps, but helping you understand how you can accomplish these steps.

Step 1: Choose an Idea.

The first thing you are going to need to do before you start the build out of any business, is come up with an idea for your business.  This is also called the “niche” stage of your business, where you get to choose the audience and the category of your business.  This could be anything, from training a puppy, to basketball sports betting, to video games, etc.  There are literally millions of potential directions that you can head with your business.  This is the exciting part.

I tend to recommend to people to choose a passion/interest as their niche.  This way, you will truly love your business and when you love what you do, you never have to “work” a day in your life.  The Internet and the affiliate marketing industry has afforded us all this very opportunity.

How to Choose Your Idea:  Choose a niche or a passion.  There are close to 5 BILLION people online now, so even the most obscure niches have vast audiences.  If you are a member of Wealthy Affiliate, you have direct video classes walking you through the niche selection process along with direct help from the community (and myself) who can give you feedback on your niche.

Step 2: Build a Website.

Your website is your foundation of your business.  Think of it like a shop within the offline world.  If you have no “storefront”, you don’t have the ability to attract and help customers, or the ability to sell anything.  Your website is in essence your storefront, where you are able to help your audience, communicate with your audience, and promote products/services to your audience.

If you don’t have a website, you don’t stand a hope of running an online business.  It is the first and key necessity you need to create a long-term business.

How to Accomplish:  You can build high performing and profit-ready websites with ease. You can even get up and running with one for completely free – here are two options that I use and like!  With Wealthy Affiliate they take you through creating your niche and even creating content – you can start for free with Starter Account.  The other option I really like is PlugIn Profit Site because you learn everything you need and start generating not 1 stream of income but 5 and Wealthy Affiliate is part of that.  The site is built for you and you can even automate it to a point depending on your budget.

Another perk to using the website platform over at Wealthy Affiliate is that their hosting (where your website lives) is high speed and ranks better than other providers.  This can give you a competitive advantage and can lead to a lot more opportunity as you build out your website.

Step 3: Get an Audience.

In the Internet world, your website is also the place where your “traffic” will arrive.  Without people coming to your website, there is no way to make money. So it is important to understand how to attract traffic to your website.

Traffic can come in many forms, but one of the most sustainable and long-term traffic methods is through search engine optimization (SEO).  This means, getting ranked in search engines like Google, and as a result getting all sorts of FREE traffic to your website.  Once you have traffic, you have opportunity and that is the secret sauce to everything… TRAFFIC!

This is the next focus, once you have your website up and running.  Building out your website in a way that leads to traffic.

How to Accomplish: You need proper “traffic” training, along with a website that is set-up to rank well within search engines.  These are both things that are provided within Wealthy Affiliate, you have access to elite SEO training, along with classes and access to experts that will help you with your traffic campaigns.

Plus, there are many other ways you can get traffic to your website as you build it out.  Social media channels, YouTube and video blogging, podcasts, and paid traffic channels.  These are all covered in detail within the training at Wealthy Affiliate.

Step 4: Make Money.

This is where you earn money through affiliate programs.  Basically, there are over 550 MILLION products/services that you can promote as an affiliate marketer, in exchange for a commission.  You will be adding these special links on your website from companies like Amazon, Etsy, Nike, Apple, eBay, etc…and you will then earn a “kickback” if someone goes from your website to theirs and ends up buying something.

The affiliate marketing industry is growing at the fastest pace ever, and affiliates stand to earn $12 BILLION online this year…with this growing even more next year. You can get your chunk of this pie.

How to Accomplish:   Finding affiliate programs can be an inefficient task at the best of times. You typically must go through a bunch of Google searches, just to find what you are looking for.

There are 1000 ways to do this but with the PlugIn Profit Site and Wealthy Affiliate you have instant access to 5 affiliate programs that produce a large amount of commissions across the platforms.

The training you will be getting on how to properly integrate affiliate promotions into your website to maximize conversions….along with some insight into the customer purchase lifecycle, critical information if you want to become a high performing, and successful affiliate marketers online.

So there you have it, how to effectively start an affiliate marketing business in a nutshell.  If you are interested in creating your own affiliate marketing business and have no experience, or you are currently trying to build out or scale an affiliate marketing business and you are not getting the results you want, I CAN HELP.

Proven Idea to Make Quick Money Online

If you’re in the IM niche, you probably get the same emails I do asking: “I need to make money YESTERDAY, what do you recommend?”

Proven Idea to Make Quick Money Online

Or maybe you need some extra money for a project you’re working on right now, or you’ve got an unexpected bill.

Here’s a method I sometimes suggest for earning a quick $500 or $1,000, and what people seem to like about it is how simple and straightforward it is.

Ask yourself what skills and knowledge you possess right now. Maybe you can write really well, or you’re good at building WordPress sites. Maybe you’re a graphic artist, or a photographer or videographer. Maybe you’ve got great people skills and you can act as an affiliate manager or set up joint ventures. Perhaps you can coach people on how to do something specific, or teach them how to find the perfect virtual assistant. I guarantee you have at least one skill or piece of knowledge that others are willing to pay for.

“But I don’t have a skill!” Really? Then you need to find dynamite outsourcers who do have skills you can market. You must find something that others are willing to pay for, and that’s usually a skill and sometimes simply a piece of very valuable knowledge.

Once you’ve identified your skill, set up a web page offering that skill for hire. A simple blog site will do, preferably on your own domain. Check out other similar websites to get ideas on how to set yours up.

Find blogs that are relevant to your skill and allow guest bloggers. For example, if you’re really good at writing engaging blog posts, find blogs about blogging. If you can troubleshoot antique engines over the phone, then find blogs about old cars. These blogs should have a bare minimum of 5,000 readers a month, and be sure they already allow guest posting.

Now write articles that provide awesome content for these blogs. Study each blog and write an article just for them that solves a problem or tells how to do something that is totally relevant to your particular skill. For example, if your skill is article writing, you’re going to tell them how to write the perfect article. If your skill is photographing products, then that’s what you’ll teach. Don’t worry about giving away all your secrets – some people would much rather hire a professional than do the work themselves. Link back to your website in the author’s box.

Don’t know if you spotted it, but there is a flaw in the steps above and here it is…

It can sometimes take WEEKS to get your guest blog post published. How do you speed up the process? One way is to link whatever you are writing about with something that is current in the news, preferably in the last 12 to 48 hours. You might need to get a little creative here but if you can pull it off then blog owners will be racing to publish your post. For example, if you’re a sales letter copywriter and the FTC just handed down new rules for what you can and cannot say in your sales copy, you’re golden.

Another trick for getting published quickly is to provide dynamite graphics, pictures or even infographics to go with your article. In fact, your infographic could even BE your article. And don’t forget to politely make a good case to the blog owners on why they should consider publishing your article as quickly as possible.

Continue writing articles and getting them published until the orders start coming in or your phone starts ringing.

The entire process could take as little as 48 hours or as long as 10 days, depending on how fast you get those first blog posts published.

Added benefit – you’ll make more business connections which can continue to benefit you in the future.

How Outsourcing Can Save Your Business

If you’re not outsourcing some of your work yet, you might be wondering what the benefits are. Obviously you’ll save time, but you’re trading money for the time saved.

How Outsourcing Can Save Your Business

So is it really worth it? Here are 7 benefits of outsourcing you may not have realized:

1. Not only are you saving time, but the time you save can be put to a higher use. For example, instead of spending time writing your next article, you could outsource the article creation to a professional and spend that time making contact with potential JV partners who will promote your products.

2. You don’t have to learn a new skill. If it’s a skill you’re going to rarely use anyway, or if it’s something that you simply have no interest in learning, you are much better off outsourcing it to a professional.

3. Even if you know how to perform the skill you’re thinking of outsourcing, there is a good chance someone else can do it better than you. Maybe a lot better. Do you really want to spend the next ‘x’ amount of your own hours to achieve mediocre results? Or do you want an amazing payoff that can only come from someone who skillfully performs that task every day of the week?

4. You can grow your business faster when you outsource. If you’re trying to do every task yourself, you can only grow as fast as you can work. But if you harness the skills of others, you can grow exponentially.

5. You can react to the market faster. Let’s say a new social media site hits the scene and you want to create a product that teaches people how to use it. If you do all the work yourself, it could take weeks. But if you outsource some of the work, you can have it done in days. Money loves speed.

6. Once you have a system that works, you can ramp it up on a large scale with outsourcing. For example, you’ve discovered the exact type of video to make to promote affiliate products and how to get it ranked high in Google. Now outsource the work to others and instead of creating and ranking two new videos a week, you can do 2 a day. Or even 10 a day.

7. You’ll be happier. By outsourcing all the tasks you either don’t enjoy or aren’t very good at, you can focus on the areas of your business that you truly enjoy. And when you enjoy your work, you will naturally tend to get more done and be more successful.

Keep Your Brain Happy to Enjoy Success

The year is more than halfway over — wow hard to believe it but  – time to talk about your goals, right? Goals are important, yes… But I’d like to focus for a moment on one of the real drivers that will allow you to achieve all of your ambitions, whatever they might be: Keeping Your Brain Happy so it can help you to accomplish your tasks and see your intentions through to success.

Keep Your Brain Happy to Enjoy Success

We all know what it’s like to try to try to work when our brain is in a fog or just doesn’t want to cooperate with us. We feel like we can’t get it in gear, like everything takes too long and the end result is sadly lacking.

Just like any other part of the body, brains can get tired. Suffering from cerebral fatigue results in a lack of new ideas, poor thinking, lousy problem solving and can even be a cause of depression.

Here then are 12 tips to keep your brain refreshed, energized and happy:

  1. Mix it up. It’s just common sense that if you spend hour after hour on the same task, you’re going to get burned out. So instead of writing articles for 8 hours straight, try writing articles for 2 hours, researching your next product for an hour, returning emails for an hour, etc.

  2. Don’t multitask important stuff. Sure, you can listen to the radio while you’re doing the dishes, but that’s because neither one requires your full attention. When doing something important like learning a new skill from a webinar or working on your next product, don’t be checking email or the score of the game. By not multitasking you’ll accomplish more in less time, and your quality of work will be better, too.

  3. Stand up and move around. If you can, get one of those standing work desks and use it at least half the time. If you alternate between standing and sitting you’ll find that you’re more alert and your brain works better.

  4. Take a quick break every 20 minutes or so. 20 minute “bursts” of work followed by 2-3 minutes of non-work can make you productive and keep you and your brain energized. BEST: Do something physical on these short breaks like push-ups, sit-ups or deep knee bends.

  5. Engage your senses. Use some peppermint or orange oil to wake you up. Make your work space interesting to look at with thought-provoking art. Use colored paper and pens. Get a worry stone or some kind of object you like to hold and pick this up for tactile stimulation when you’re thinking through a problem.

  6. Relax for 10 minutes every 90 – 120 minutes. Take 10 minutes off to meditate, walk around the block or work on a puzzle. Your brain will love this.

  7. Work when your brain wants to work. Everyone has their own circadian rhythm. Some people are morning people, others are night owls, and many fall in between. Find out what time of day is your most productive and then schedule that time for your most intense and important work.

  8. Prioritize. Work on your most important task first, when your brain is at its freshest. Getting this task done first will also give you a much needed feeling of accomplishment and free you up to focus on smaller goals and tasks.

  9. Work less, play more. Seriously, if you’re working 100 hours a week then I suspect you’re only doing 50 hours worth of work. Think about it – how much of your time is truly devoted to working, and how much is devoted to “getting ready to work?” Don’t allow yourself to get distracted by emails, games, news, weather, etc.

Instead focus yourself on getting your tasks done as quickly as possible, and then leave your computer, leave your office and go do something totally unrelated to work. While you are out “playing” your brain will be rejuvenating. One unexpected benefit to this is you’ll find your brain becomes more creative and a much better problem solver when it gets periods of rest, relaxation and diversion from work.

  1. Take a weekly vacation. No, I’m not kidding. Getting away once a week does wonders for every part of you, especially your brain. And you don’t have to leave your area to take a vacation. Go someplace locally you’ve never been to, take a class, go to events, spend the day walking downtown or in the woods, etc.

Is the weather terrible and you don’t want to leave home? Then grab that book you’ve got of nature photographs or travel shots and sit in a comfortable chair and transport yourself to the exotic places you see in the photos. In terms of benefits to the brain, it’s almost as good as being there.

  1. Exercise. I’m not going to tell you all the reasons why you should exercise here – you probably already know them. And one of the biggest reasons is because when you exercise, your brain works better. You think better and more clearly. I wouldn’t be a bit surprised if people who regularly exercise improve their IQ scores – it’s already been proven to increase memory and comprehension.
  2. Feed your brain. Good nutrition is vital to your brain’s well being. If you’re eating processed foods or junk foods, you’re starving your brain. If you’re eating things like fresh fruits and vegetables and fish, then you’re feeding your brain. Don’t believe me? Cut out all junk food and processed food for one week. Add in fish oils or fish, along with plenty of veggies and some fruits. See if you don’t notice a massive difference in both the way you feel and how well your brain functions.

Be good to your brain and it will help you reach your goals this year, and beyond!

You’re Doing Affiliate Marketing All Wrong

What’s the easiest way to make money online, without having to create a product or a sales page? Affiliate marketing, of course. 🙂

So, why is it that most affiliate marketers never make nearly what they could make? Anyone has the potential to make HUGE money in affiliate marketing, yet 90% or more of affiliates make a pittance (I’ll wager the number is closer to 98%, in fact.)

You’re Doing Affiliate Marketing All Wrong

Think about this: If you earn an average of $50 on each sale in a sales funnel you promote, and you make 6 sales, you’ve made $300. Sounds good, right?

But guaranteed, there is someone else who made 600 sales and walked away with $30,000.

Why did they make 600 sales when you made just 6?

There are reasons why a handful of affiliate marketers do amazingly well, and everyone else barely makes a profit.

And marketers who understand this will always have a tremendous advantage over marketers who don’t.

1: Build a Relationship

I know you’ve heard it before, but are you doing it? People buy people, not products.

If you want them to open your email and click your link, or visit your Facebook Group and click a link, you’ve got to have a RELATIONSHIP with your people.

This is so simple to do, yet few marketers take the time.

Start with a blog post that is all about you, and then send new opt-ins to the post so they can get to know you. Make the post silly, funny and most of all REAL. Talk about the stupid stuff you’ve done, the mistakes you’ve made, where you live and so forth.

Do you have a strange hobby or unusual taste in food? Include that. Do you have 17 pets? Talk about them. Do you work until 3 in the morning and sleep until noon? Mention that.

Reveal the real you. Not the details people don’t want, but the ones that amuse and interest. You’re looking to make a real connection, not give a resume.

And above all else, don’t make your life seem like a series of magnificent accomplishments. No one is going to relate to someone who turns everything they touch into gold.

But they are going to relate to the time you bought Bitcoin when it was worthless and sold it just before it took off, or the time you thought you could fly and jumped off your uncle’s barn into the manure pile.

And don’t stop with your ‘about me’ page, either. Use this relationship building in your lead magnet, your emails, your other blog posts and so forth.

Always inject a little bit about yourself. Not so much that you bore people, of course, or make everything seem about you. But just enough to keep it real.

Think about relating an event to a friend. Aren’t you going to give your own perceptions of what happened, as well as tell about how you got out of your car and stepped in the mud puddle just before your big presentation?

Use this same method of personal, one-on-one friend communication with your readers as well.

Post on your blog as often as possible, and we’re talking every day or two. Encourage your list to subscribe to Feedburner or the equivalent so they know when you add a new post.

Your readers will realize you’re a real person who isn’t out to pitch them a new product every 5 minutes. And they’ll gladly read your sales emails much more readily when they know there is a real live human being who is sending them these messages.

2: Use Your Own Voice

How many emails do you receive that say something along the lines of, “Buy this product – this product is the greatest product ever – you will be sorry if you miss this – so rush right over and buy it now.”

Yeah. Same old stuff, over and over again.

There is a marketer (or maybe several, but I’m thinking of one in particular) who sells MASSIVE quantities of this exact type of emails as a swipe file to new marketers.

Like a brand-new marketer couldn’t write their own 25 word email that basically says, “GO BUY THIS NOW!”

People are TIRED of getting these emails. You’re tired of getting these emails. I’m tired of getting these emails.

Same phrases, same message, same B.S.

If you’re not going to stand apart from the crowd, then you’re going to have to share the same crumbs they’re getting.

Instead, take 30 minutes and write your own promotional email in your own voice.

Forget hype. Be sincere. Be honest. “Hey, this product isn’t for everyone. I don’t even know if it’s for you. But if you have this problem, then maybe this is your solution. Check it out and decide if it’s right for you, because I know it’s worked like crazy for some people. And it’s on sale right now, too.”

I’ve written emails where I basically tell people not to buy something unless they really really want it or need it. “Don’t buy this if you already know how to do xyz.” “Don’t buy this if you’re not going to be doing this type of marketing.” This is only for people who want (fill in the blank.) It’s like I’m trying to talk them out of it, which paradoxically often results in more sales, not fewer.

But the point isn’t tricking them into buying; it’s to be honest. Because you know what? That latest, greatest product you’re promoting ISN’T what everyone on your list needs. Some of them, sure. The rest of them, no.

Do you have any idea how refreshing it is to open an email that says, “Here’s a new product, thought you might want to know, but please don’t buy it if you’re not going to use it.”

The first time I got an email like that, I bought the product without even reading the sales letter. True story. I was just so happy that someone wasn’t ramming a sale down my throat, that I jumped at the chance to buy it.

Weird but true.

My point is, be you. Be honest. Talk to your readers as though they are your best friends and you don’t want to lose your best friends by acting like a carnival barker who is here today and pulled up stakes (vanished) tomorrow with their money.

3: Email a LOT

This is the one where people like to argue with me, and I understand that.

You’ve heard over and over again that you shouldn’t email too often, or you’ll upset your subscribers, right?

After all, every time you email, there is the potential that a subscriber will hit the unsubscribe button.

Do you know what the potential is when you DON’T email? Nothing. No opens, no clicks, no sales… not even any relationship building.

Do you want people to open and read your emails? Then send out those emails EVERY DAY.

Here’s why:

First, almost no one will see every email you send out. Let’s say you’ve got a sale on one of your products. Don’t you think your readers might like to know about it? But if they miss the one and only email you send that lets them know, then they’ve missed out on the discount and you LOST a sale.

Second, send emails at different times. I opened someone’s email just yesterday, decided I was VERY interested in the new membership he was selling, clicked the link and discovered it was no longer available.

What happened? This particular marketer only sends out emails at 1:00 a.m. my time, so I don’t even see most of his emails in the avalanche of mail I get before I wake up.

Third, if you’re sending email once a week or once a month, your readers are forgetting who the heck you are. And when you finally do send an email, they think it’s spam.

Fourth, if you mail more often, you will make more money. Don’t take my word on this, just do it for one month. Send out one email per day, every day, for 30 days. Put a promotion in each one. See if you haven’t made more – a LOT more – money during that time period than during the previous month.

And by the way, I’m not saying JUST send out a promotion in each email. Make sure you have some content in there as well, even if it’s just an amusing anecdote.

4: Think of affiliate marketing as a BUSINESS

This isn’t a hobby, nor is it an add-on for an additional income stream.

Even if you go on vacation, be prepared to send out an email every day. Schedule them in advance or write them on vacation. Either way, affiliate marketing to your list is a business that you can’t just jump into when you need cash and forget about the rest of the time.

You don’t have many support issues, since the product owners handle this. You don’t have to worry about creating products, sales pages and so forth. You don’t have to drive traffic, unless it’s to build your list bigger.

With so much you don’t have to do, there’s no reason not to focus your time and energy into building relationships with your list and promoting to them every single day.

Affiliate marketing can be some of the easiest money you’ve ever made, if you put in the time and effort to make it a real business.

Being Busy… in your Business

Have you found yourself so BUSY in your business but NOT making any money?

I was looking at my calendar today and thought “Geez Louise I’m busy!”  Zoom call after zoom call, emails and texts and before I know it, its 5:00 and I’ve accomplished nothing I had wanted!

Sound familar?

Looking and feeling busy can be ca common pitfall to entrepreneurship for a home based business.

No structure and co-workers sounds like a dream come true for many…and it is if you take the right approach.

You’ll hear me say there are a 1000 ways to solve any problem and finding the right one for you will take patience and practice!

I know waking up and journaling and praying is great but its not sustainable for me.  I live and work in our RV so we can travel the United States.  That means … I don’t have a lot of “private” space.

I’m realistic about what I can do.  The first 15 minutes of my day I walk the dog and just spend a few minutes stretching as I get some sun on my face.  (There is a belief the sooner you get sun in our eyes the happier and more energized you are. )

I walk or run first thing in the morning usually before I have coffee.

I eat a great breakfast high in protein before I sit down at my desk and open my email and/or start working.

I started saying no to calls or group zooms that don’t directly affect my business.  Almost all of the calls are recorded and I can watch the replay and play back quicker if I need to.  I almost never NEED to!

I have a non-negotiable list of things that have to be achieved daily.

  • Email
  • 1 hour of learning and taking action if I am in the middle of implementing a new strategy.
  • 1 Marketing — can be a combination of what I am doing.  My daily goal is to share my “offer” to at least 100 people 5 days a week.

I set weekly intentions — they are things I would like to achieve that I have no control over but when taking the right actions daily it will help me achieve the weekly intentions.

When I find myself “busy” I ask “Is what I am doing right now helping me get closer to my intentions for the week?”  If I answer no then I stop doing it or I don’t do it at all.

Of course there are more tasks I complete daily/weekly.  I set a timer and work in time chunks.   I get more done in a few hours than what used to take me days or weeks to do without time chunking.

This helps me stay focused and clear on my tasks resulting in more efficiency overall!  If/when I finish before the timer goes off, I get to cross something off my list, stretch and take a break.

It is said that when you stop and start any task it takes over 26 minutes to get back to where you left off.

These are just a few of the tactics that have worked for me. Let me know what you think by commenting below.

Growing a Home Business from Scratch

Getting eyeballs on your offer!

We all know the key to success is getting people to actually look at it. You have to invite a lot of people to actually get one conversation.  What do you do if you’re an introvert, don’t have a lot of followers or friends and just don’t like prospecting?

This is something I’ve been trying to answer for years.

  • I love entrepreneurship!
  • I love deciding when and where I get to work.
  • I love helping others!

AND

  • I hate selling!
  • I hate convincing others what I have is good!
  • I hate failure!

But growing a business to have time and financial freedom requires selling even when you don’t think you’re selling.  AND getting new eyeballs on you and. your business.  It takes time and effort …aka as marketing!

As a new entrepreneur or solopreneur you just may not have a lot of time OR money to market and run your business.  Its been an age old problem for years.

Spend time… doing it on a shoestring budget and work a TON of hours!

OR

Spend money (you don’t have YET) to grow FAST!

Doing great work and expecting to grow by referral or word of month is NOT a sound marketing plan!  Trust me I tried it!

In fact even when I did start getting referrals and my business was growing I realized that to scale I had to change something because as a service based company there were only so many hours in a day!  I found my self sitting in front of my computer for 8+ hours a day and always thinking about what I had to do next.

My dream of time and money freedom as an entrepreneur wasn’t exactly the life I was living!

I’ve been searching for ways to scale back, work less, give value, and make money!

I needed to figure out,”How can I help more people l ike me enjoy our business and get eyeballs on our offer (what ever it is) without slaving away hour after hour on social media?

While there may be a 1000 ways to achieve this many how based businesses want it to happen fast.

In my experience the questions you should be asking yourself is:

  • What are my skills?
  • How much time do I have a day to do this?
  • How much money do you want to make?
  • How much money can you invest?

If you want to earn while you learn YOU CAN build a business!

If you can commit to spending 1 hour day for the next 30 days YOU CAN build a business!

If you desire to make any amount from $100 extra a month to a full-time income YOU CAN build a business!

If you have NO money to build a business, it will take you longer but YOU CAN build a business you will need just a small amount to get started (less than $50).

If you have a small budget YOU CAN build a business!

If you have a larger budget YOU CAN build a business FASTER!

The key is finding the blueprint that helps you learn the skills you need, get eyeballs on your offer (even if its NOT your product).

I’ve tried A FEW! Some are good and MANY are bad!  I have learned a ton of skills — not all are necessary but I love learning.  Unfortunately learning is not earning!  Many of the courses I spent thousands on never had a clear path to taking action and creating a true path to a successful long-term business.

If you’re ready to solve the problem, get eyeballs on your offer and start earning.  Invest your time in a program you can check out before you open your wallet.

Have realistic expectations.

Look for a leader that is clear to you what you will learn, what you NEED to implement, what you can skip until you have the funds and STILL show you everything you need to get started. It is a tall order!

No matter what you do – you should expect to pay for:

  • A domain name – less than 30 a year!
  • An Autoresponder! – about $30 a month

There are so many cool tools you will see that are fun!  Many are not needed – at least at first. Just start by building a solid foundation before you start worrying about ALL the things.  There are soooo many?  And if you think you have to get the latest and greatest AI Thing-A-Majig, wait a day or two.  These are distractions to growing your business.

Not sure its something you need — send me a message and I will give you my honest opinion.  I’ve been caught up in FOMO lots of times too!  99% of the time its just another “thing” I’ve paid for that I never use.  Save your money!  Put it towards something that will actually help you get eyeballs and customers so you can make more money!

To learn more about the whole process and have an expert guide you along the way check out the Plug-In Profit System with Stone Evans — its advertised on this page.  It won’t cost you a dime to go through the training (you will need a domain but don’t worry he will walk you through the entire process).

I spend well under $100 to run a real online business with ALL the tools necessary.  (Advertising and marketing not included – personally I use a combination of paid and free and spend time daily doing it witout posting on social media!)

Hello world!

Hi, it’s Heather and this is my new website. Stay tuned… I’ll have great things to share!

For starters, here’s an article I think you’ll enjoy…

It’s called: “Make the Leap to Home Business Success

Make the Leap to Home Business Success

If you are going to build a successful home business, you need 3 “intangibles.” These are things that must come from WITHIN you.

===> Intangible 1 <===

First, you must have a strong WHY.

Why must you make a home business work? What’s driving you? What is it that you CAN’T have in your life anymore and/or what is it that you absolutely MUST HAVE now?

For me, I couldn’t stand working 12+ hours a day anymore and missing the experience of my children growing up. I also absolutely HAD TO HAVE the freedom of being able to control my life and finances through a little box that I could carry with me anywhere in the world and not be tied to anyone’s time pressures or demands but my own. That was my carrot and my stick. I felt a great pain deep in my gut of missing out on my children’s lives and the incredible freedom that succeeding in this business would provide for me. I found my why. You MUST find yours.

===> Intangible 2 <===

You must BELIEVE that it is possible.

If you don’t believe that it’s POSSIBLE for you to succeed in a home business or make your living on the Internet, you won’t. It’s that simple.

For me, figuring out that it was possible was just a matter of realizing that many other people were ALREADY making great money with a home business online. If they could do it, I could too. It would just be a matter of figuring out what those people were doing and then adapting it to my situation.

There is no shortage of undeniable PROOF that people (millions of them) are making money online in many different ways. Just get online and do some research and you’ll find countless testimonials and stories of REAL PEOPLE making real money on the Internet. Or head to your local bookstore and you’ll find the same documented evidence of this fact. Truth is, it’s getting easier and easier to start and succeed in a home based business. This is primarily because of the Internet and affiliate marketing.

I’ve always said that “affiliate marketing” is the job of the future. In the “old” days, you had to go to a potential employer, apply for the position and hope for the best. Now you can simply go to any company you want, fill out their affiliate application and start work immediately. Affiliates are the new working class. Believe me, making money with affiliate programs or making your living on the Internet is WAY MORE than possible. It is pretty much (or will be soon enough) unavoidable now. Affiliate marketing is the “job” of the future that’s here TODAY.

===> Intangible 3 <===

You must be willing to MAKE THE LEAP.

Ready, FIRE, then aim… This is the operating philosophy you MUST adopt to succeed with an Internet home business.

That’s backwards for most people who like to aim before they fire. The fact is the Internet is a moving target… The only thing constant about it is change. You need to stop analyzing the game and simply jump into it. You can’t learn from the outside… You have to be IN THE RING to truly understand it.

The lesson here is that you will never really be READY to start a home based business. You simply have to start one. This is what I call “Making the Leap.”

The good news is that the cost of failure on the Internet is very small. In the “brick and mortar” world you need to evaluate things very carefully before you decide to open up a business. It’s almost always necessary to invest thousands of dollars to get an offline business off the ground. However, on the Internet you can often start a successful business for less than $100. In fact, Plug-In Profit Site is a really good example of this.

You simply need get IN THE GAME… Each moment that you stay “out there,” you’re wasting valuable time that you could be learning and skills necessary to become a successful affiliate marketer. In fact, if you’re not in the game yet, you’re ALREADY behind the times. Come on… You can do it! Make the leap to becoming a successful home based business owner today!

About the author: Stone Evans was a washed up restaurant worker desperately searching for a way to save his family when he discovered the internet and affiliate marketing… 24 months later he finally cracked the code and started earning over $10,000 per month.
